Holy smokes! My dad is celebrating his 80th birthday today. Doesn't he look great? This is him and I just this last Sunday on Father's Day. He is an incredible man. He has raised ten wonderful children (I get to say that because I am one of them. LOL His favorite, of course. Ha) and most of them girls. Just think of all the excitement that has brought to his life. He has had to be smart just to put up with all of us. Hope your day is super fabulous Dad! Eat cake and be happy!!

Use your Stash Pattern Paper challenge
Pattern paper is something I have a lot of in my stash. I am always anxious to use outdated papers in a modern form so my pages don't look off center. LOL Thanks for making me pull these together.
I used Basic Grey Equinox ( the small circle print) Scrapworks fall harvest (the cicles with circles) and Bo Bunny U bug me stars(stars on a line) I also used the back sides, the orange circles in the bottom right corner are the othe side of the Scrapworks paper and the brown stars photo corner is the opposite of the line stars.
Thanks for looking!

Use Your Stash Paint challenge
The title is painted and stamped. I also added paint to the cardstockfor a pattern paer texture look and pinted the edges of the layout. I painted the chipboard tag, adhered a photo in the middle and added a paintstrip for the journaling just for fun!
These are pics from a trip to Stone Mountain in Atlanta, Ga in Oct. 2000

Cabin Crop 2009
Our third annual cabin crop was held this past weekend. What an awesome scrapbooking event this has become. The prized this year were fabulous. The food was terrific. Taralee is on really good chef. I only completed 7 layouts but managed to get 40 cards done compliments of the shoebox swap. I have so many opportunities to scrapbook at the cabin by myself that I don't try to do alot at the crop. We had a great time and the weather held up. Only sprinkled for a bit. It was a gorgeous weekend.
Missing Mom
It is hard to believe that mom has been gone for a year already. Making it through the first year has been especially hard for our dad. He misses her so much. It is easy to treasure the moments that we had with her. She shared so much with us each time we visited. We have had so many wonderful thoughts and experiences that it truly feels like she is still with us. I feel her presence near me often and thank Heavenly Father for that blessing in my life. I have enjoyed the moments at the cemetary and the strong impressions that I feel when I think about her. You can't imagine how many times I think, oh I'll just give mom a call or hey I need mom to help me with this, or I wonder what mom thinks about that. If I need an answer to something, I think of mom. She was such a great person as well as a terrific mom and had her childrens interests close to her heart. She taught us so much and knew so much about all the things we needed to know and do. Her testimony was incredible. She had such a good life. She was a great example of what a mother truly is.
